Women's Residential Recovery Home

Our residential recovery home offers women a safe place to get grounded in their faith, find Christ-centered solutions to addiction, and begin life reestablishment.

Our home provides for up to 10 women.  The program is divided into phases with each phase bringing more independence, responsibility, and preparation towards life outside the home.  In each phase, the women work through an individualized study plan using curriculum developed by Adult and Teen Challenge USA (with a 65 year history of positive outcomes and radical life transformation in their centers across the US and Canada). Women also receive practical life-skills training in areas like developing/restoring healthy relationships, parenting, communication, financial management, cooking, and cleaning. Students are required to follow “house rules” and a daily schedule including work therapy, Bible Study, Chapel time, group activities, class time and homework assignments. Completion time varies depending on the individual but ranges between 12 and 15 months.  In later phases, women get outside employment while still having the accountability of living at the home.

With the Lord’s great blessings and many faithful partners, we have been able to completely renovate our 16,000 square foot building including the east wing (Renewed Thrift Shop), the south wing and central area (office and residential recovery home), and the north wing (5 House Grandmother Apartments).

It is a beautiful home for our women (better than we ever expected), because of donations of flooring, appliances, used kitchen cabinets, bedroom sets, and gently used furniture throughout the home. This has all been accomplished without incurring debt because of our generous supporters and over 6000 hours of volunteer labor working along-side our licensed contractors! Jail Ministry

We meet with women who are incarcerated at the Wayne and Appanoose County Jails on a weekly basis for Bible Study, discipleship, and encouragement.   We listen and speak truth to them with the love of God, offering hope for freedom from addictions and a new life in Jesus Christ.  We discuss their future plans and what steps they should consider next to make life reestablishment and permanent freedom a reality for them.  Each woman is given a Bible and a daily devotional book.

Mentoring/Discipleship

Based on individual needs and staff availability, this can include visitation to the Women’s Prison at Mitchellville (for those transferred to prison) or half-way houses, personal meetings, phone calls, and help finding needed additional assistance or treatment.

Biblical Counseling

We offer Biblical Counseling to individual women on a weekly basis. Consistently replacing wrong thought patterns with the truth of God’s Word while showing them God’s love can transform lives.
